Chef Patron Francesco Mazzei opened Radici with D&D London in his local neighbourhood of Islington in the spring of 2017. Set just off Upper Street on the former site of Almeida, translating from the Italian as ‘roots’, Radici is a trattoria celebrating the rustic, humble food of the Mezzogiorno, Francesco’s home region. Fellow Southern Italian chef Giuseppe Cafaro runs the kitchen on a day-to-day basis, having previously worked for Francesco at l’Anima and Sartoria for many years.
